Tauhei Solar Farm to deliver 202 MW of clean energy and integrate agrisolar practices across 182 Hectares.
S-Rack, in partnership with its delivery network, will supply the solar mounting system for Tauhei Solar Farm, a 202 MW agrisolar project that will be the largest solar installation in New Zealand once complete.
Located near Te Aroha in the Waikato region, the project spans 182 hectares and is being developed by Harmony Energy, with Elecnor NZ as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partner. Once operational, the farm will generate around 280 GWh of renewable electricity annually, enough to power more than 35,000 New Zealand homes every year.
In addition to its scale, the project will implement agrisolar practices, allowing for productive use of the land beneath and around solar panels, supporting both energy and agricultural output in tandem.
S-Rack’s role includes delivering a customised ground mount solution, tailored for the site’s rural terrain and designed for rapid installation, resilience in local climate conditions, and long-term performance.
“Tauhei is a standout project, not just in size, but in the way it blends utility-scale solar with smart land use,” said Marianne Burghardt, Managing Director at S-Rack. “It’s a privilege to work alongside Elecnor and Harmony Energy on a farm that shows what the future of renewable infrastructure can look like.”
The first delivery of mounting materials is scheduled for June 2025, with installation to follow throughout the second half of the year.
“This project reflects the momentum we’re gaining across Oceania, and is a testament to our team’s ongoing commitment to delivering clean energy at scale” Liam Turner, General Manager at S-Rack.
