Transforming an existing, operational multi-storey carpark into a solar-powered one is no small task. The project involved installing solar panels on the top level of the carpark, providing 42 carparking spaces with integrated solar carports. Factoring in that the carpark was both functional and elevated meant combating distribution challenges with heavy machinery, like the planned use of a crane. S-Rack and Energy Aware navigated these complexities with ease, cleverly pre-planning the carport build, allowing S-Rack to start and finish the project in 2 weeks once on the jobsite.
The 42 carport installations are set to make a substantial impact on DHL’s energy consumption and sustainability goals, these carports are now set to generate 200,000kWh of renewable energy in 2025. Nick Burrows, representative of Energy Aware, praised the collaboration: “There’s so much planning and detail that goes into a successful installation, S-Rack jumped in and worked with our team seamlessly through this process. This resulted in them executing the installation aspect of this project according to plans. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the team at S-Rack.”
This project highlights S-Rack’s and Energy Aware’s dedication to driving the adoption of renewable energy. With over 20 years of combined global experience in solar mounting solutions, S-Rack (As a part of NWI Group) continues to innovate, delivering high-quality, customised solutions that are both reliable and econ
omically smart. “S-Rack is proud to have partnered with Energy Aware on this project” said Liam Turner, General Manager of S-Rack. “Their trust and support makes difficult projects feel like a walk in the park. They acknowledge every piece of structural feedback, allowing us to work collaboratively to produce yet another fantastic outcome in our partnership.”
